Today we are one less...

Today we lost Stevie Cummings. His recently diagnosed cancer took him quickly. We will all grieve in our own way as we remember Stevie "catdaddy" Cummings. He touched everyone of us, either with his antics or his humor and his never failing ability to put things in perspective with one quipped remark.. Probably the most naturally funny person I have ever known. I would laugh until I cried when he cranked up with a story. And he had many. I always marveled at how Stevie could know so much about so many, and it always be the truth.
Goodness..I really thought he might cheat destiny and walk away from this..I really did. Even cancer, even really bad cancer that was in multiple places at once. I still felt like if anyone could, he could take the treament, get up, make a joke about it, tell two or three stories about his hospital stay that would make you double over you were laughing so hard AND tell you something scandalous that happened while he was there that nobody else could possibly know.
But he didn't. So, we sigh in relief that he is no longer in pain (because he was) and remember that he lived a large life.
But goodness, I will miss him.
